On 19 September 2024, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) published its Threat Landscape 2024. Looking at the period from July 2023 until June 2024, it identifies seven prime cybersecurity threats:

• Ransomware
• Malware
• Social Engineering
• Threats against data
• Threats against availability: Denial of Service
• Information manipulation and interference
• Supply chain attacks

It also looks four distinct threat actors’ categories:

• State-nexus actors;
• Cybercrime actors and hacker-for-hire actors;
• Private Sector Offensive actors (PSOA);
• Hacktivists
